Cedar oil: features and applications

Cedar oil: features and applications

The raw materials for the production of cedar oil are the fruits of the Siberian or Altai evergreen cedar pine. This culture grows in Russia. Cedar oil is very useful and widely used in medicine and cosmetology.

What it is?

Pine nut oil is a natural, environmentally friendly and exceptionally healthy product that has no synthetic analogue and surpasses all other oils known to us in its nutritional value. Even in ancient times, healers used it to treat stomach diseases, burns and various skin injuries. It was at that time that the oil began to be called "the cure for a hundred diseases."

In Russia, cedar has always been valued, even during the time of Ivan the Terrible, the nuts of this tree were sold in huge volumes to the countries of Europe and Persia - where they quite successfully treated consumption.

In the oil of cedar fruits, a large amount of a wide variety of vitamins has been accumulated - A, E, D, B and others, the composition has a high concentration of useful fatty acids (omega, essential oleic and stearic acids, as well as linoleic and palmitic, which is important for maintaining health).

The product contains almost all useful trace elements: molybdenum, nickel, iodine, potassium, calcium, silver, zinc, magnesium, manganese and phosphorus, as well as proteins such as prolamine, glutelin, in addition, albumin and globulin.Such a high content of nutrients determines the exceptional usefulness of the product and its cosmetic effect. In addition, the product is perfectly absorbed by the human body in full, therefore, it has practically no significant contraindications and is recommended for use even for babies.

A high concentration of vitamins has the most beneficial effect on the functioning of the heart and blood vessels, and also has a positive effect on the nervous system and blood formation processes. The product is useful for the prevention of strokes and blood diseases, prevents heart attacks and helps to reduce blood cholesterol.

Cedar oil normalizes the functioning of all major vital systems of the body, strengthens the immune system, accelerates lymphatic drainage and has an anti-edematous effect.

Pine nut oil has the peculiarity of accelerating the healing of even the most serious wounds, frostbite and swelling, as well as normalizing the work of the digestive organs. The product reduces pain, relieves spasm, removes toxins from the body, and also improves visual acuity.

Among the useful properties of the oil can also be noted bactericidal, antiviral and antimicrobial properties. Pine nut oil is rich in antioxidants that rejuvenate the body, stop the aging process and reduce the severity of age-related changes. The active components of the product neutralize the harmful effects of nicotine and alcohol, suppress pathogenic microflora and get rid of bad body odor.

Manufacturing and types

Pine nut oil, depending on its composition and manufacturing technology, is divided into two types.

  • Bio virgin oil - this is a product in which all the chemical and biological properties of the nut itself are fully preserved. Such a product can nourish a person with the necessary minerals, vitamins and microelements in full. This oil can be bought from any manufacturer of cedar products, but be careful - quite often unscrupulous sellers sell a low-grade analogue under the guise of a pure product, so try to inquire about both the manufacturer and the trading company to make sure that you are really buying the right one. a product whose quality corresponds to the declared one.
  • Living cedar oil - this is a composition that is made on wooden presses, it includes all the main components of biological oil, but its distinguishing feature is the extraction technology, during which it does not come into contact with metal, does not settle, does not undergo long-term heat treatment and various kinds of purification and deodorization.

As a result of such a production process, the possibility of oxidation is completely excluded, during which side chemical reactions are formed and the natural purity of the product is violated.

The process of obtaining cedar oil is quite long and very laborious, it includes several important stages.

The first involves the collection of cedar cones, their transportation to the place of further processing, drying and peeling.

At the second stage, kernels are isolated from cedar fruits. At this stage, nuts are subject to calibration, all garbage, impurities and empty nuts are selected from the total mass. After such purification, the product is dried under natural conditions or in specially equipped technological dryers for 7-20 days, the final period depends on the condition of the raw material and the temperature regime. The degree of readiness of the nut is determined by splitting and then crushing the kernel. If an oil stain forms on the hands, you can begin to extract the oil, for this the product is split and the kernels are isolated.

Well, after this, the collection of oil begins directly. There are 2 basic methods for collecting the cedar product - cold pressing and high-thermal extraction.

In the first case, the kernels are placed under a production press, then its pressure is slowly increased, thus squeezing out all the oil.

The second method involves preliminary grinding of the kernels to a homogeneous mass, its subsequent heating and washing under hot water. Upon contact with liquid, the oil floats to the surface, is collected, then the excess water is evaporated and then thoroughly filtered. The cake formed in this way is pressed under pressure, and the remaining oil residues are taken away, the rest of the raw materials are used in agriculture.

The second method is considered less difficult and costly and much more productive, however, the nutritional value of the oil obtained in this way is lower, since most of the nutrients and organic compounds are destroyed when exposed to temperature. Better and healthier oil is obtained only by cold pressing - in this case, all the valuable components of pine nuts are preserved in the oil in full.

There is another method of extracting oil, which manufacturers prefer to keep quiet. It is not surprising, because this is a method of chemical extraction, in which the crushed fruit grains are poured with special reagents that completely extract the oil from them. Then, by technical separation or acid-base reaction, the oil is carefully separated from the reagent. Obviously, the product assembled in this way has absolutely nothing to do with natural pine nut oil, except for the name. In the best case, such a product will not give your body any benefit, and in the worst case, it will cause great harm.

Nevertheless, such a product is quite widespread, and in order to make the right choice, one should prefer an oil with a viscous structure and an amber tint, a delicate ethereal aroma and a rather pleasant taste.

There are folk ways that allow you to separate a quality product from a fake. To do this, pour a small amount of oil into a cleaned glass dish, and then rinse under cool running water. The natural composition will be washed off, but if a greasy stain remains on the surface, you have a counterfeit in front of you.

In addition, the oil can be put in the freezer for several hours - a quality product produced by cold pressing will not change its color, but if the shade changes, and the mass itself becomes thicker, then, most likely, the pomace from cedar kernels is generously diluted other vegetable oils.

A very alarming sign is the presence of a pronounced aroma. Most likely, flavors are either used here, or the product was heated during processing. Living oil has a pleasant, but subtle smell.

It should be understood that it is impossible to determine a quality oil by such signs alone, so purchase the product only from a reliable seller. Unfortunately, today neither the certificate nor the instructions attached to the oil guarantee absolute protection against counterfeiting, and such cedar oil is often faked.

How to do at home?

Obviously, cold-pressed oil is considered to be the most useful and nutritious, but even here it has not been without its pitfalls. It is known that oil absolutely does not tolerate any contact with any metals, however, modern technological equipment is almost 100% metal. And although almost all product manufacturers claim that completely different materials are used in the manufacture of oil, often this is completely untrue.

The oil obtained in metal tanks, even at the production stage, changes in structural and energy-information terms - our distant ancestors knew this well, therefore, only wooden presses or stone fixtures were used to harvest oil at home. At the same time, the harvesting was carried out not far from the place of collection, so that all the negativity coming from other people was as far away as possible.

Yes, even today traditional healers do the same - that is why the product obtained by such an “old-fashioned” manual method and pressed in industrial installations differs, and quite strongly. Of course, their biochemical composition is the same, but the healing power of the industrial one is much lower - this is evidenced by numerous studies. In addition, the "in-line" production of oil inevitably leads to a deterioration in its qualitative composition, however, this applies to any vegetable oil in principle.

The second pitfall makes itself felt even at the stage of harvesting cones. The most useful little is obtained only from fully ripened cones, which the tree itself has given away, that is, from fallen ones. Ancient home-made masters believed that if a cone was forcibly taken away from a tree, then the quality and medicinal component of the oil would be much lower. Naturally, industrial production does not wait for the cones to fall - the trees are harvested in full at once, after which the raw materials are beaten with sticks. Among the raw materials, immature cones are often found, the oil of which is completely useless.

Butter prepared by hand is more useful and valuable, and most importantly, you can be completely sure of its quality and the absence of impurities. However, it is not easy to cook it. First you need to remove the nuts from the cones and dry them thoroughly, you can use the usual electric dryer for vegetables and berries, in extreme cases, the oven is also suitable.

The cooled kernels must be cleaned of debris, and then remove the dry shell, for this, the nuts should be put in a canvas bag and shaken well. However, many housewives neglect this part, believing that the nuts will still have to be cleaned later.

After pre-cleaning, it is worth getting rid of the peel. To do this, the nuts are dipped in hot water for 10-15 minutes, then they are thrown back, the water is drained, laid out on a dry, flat surface and passed over with a rolling pin.

All cores must be selected manually and poured into a household press. Such devices are used on the farm to produce fruit juice. The device is set to the lowest power and turned on.

Keep in mind that from a glass of nuts you will get only a spoonful of raw materials, so you will have to repeat the procedure two or even three times. The resulting oil must be drained and filtered through a fine sieve, and then sterilized in a water bath for 5-7 minutes.

That is why more and more people are turning to cedar oil, which has earned the most favorable consumer reviews.

Those who have included cedar oil in their diet and take it regularly notice a significant improvement in their health status - the body becomes more resilient, less prone to serious diseases. In addition, after taking the oil, digestion normalizes, such unpleasant symptoms as pain and heaviness in the stomach and intestines completely disappear, insomnia disappears, and stress resistance increases.

Patients suffering from diseases of the endocrine and cardiovascular system note that the therapy, which includes cedar oil, gives a greater effect than the use of medications alone.
