Peasant butter: distinctive features, calorie content and composition
Butter is an essential product, and this is quite obvious. Today, supermarket shelves are full of various types of oils, but which one is best to choose remains a mystery for many consumers. One of the most popular types of oils, which corresponds to domestic GOST, is peasant. About what is the composition of this product, what is its calorie content and distinctive features from other types, will be described in more detail in our article.
About the product
If you look into history, you can find out that butter began to be used by people for more than four thousand years ago. Butter is a product that can be eaten in a variety of ways. It is eaten in its pure form, spread on bread, added to bakery products, baked with it in cakes, casseroles and pies. As a rule, the product is prepared from whipped cream, which is obtained from whole cow's milk. Real butter has a fairly high fat content. With moderate use of oil, it will bring great benefits to the body and even help strengthen the immune system.
Peasant butter is nothing but a type of butter. It is being done from natural cream. Peasant oil is very popular in our country and it is sold in almost every supermarket, as the manufacturer puts on it a completely optimal price, and the taste is no worse than homemade, and the composition pleases many specialists.
Product composition according to GOST
To make sure that peasant oil is really healthy and safe, you should study its composition in more detail. According to domestic GOST, the composition may include the following ingredients:
- cow's milk (sometimes the manufacturer uses pasteurized cream);
- skimmed cow's milk and dry product;
- use of secondary dairy raw materials is possible;
- fermented milk starters;
- salt;
- natural dye carotene (it is considered completely safe for humans, since it turns into vitamin A in the body).
It should be noted that in the production of the product itself, not only domestic dairy raw materials, but also foreign ones can be used.
As part of the peasant oil, you can find vitamins of groups: A, D, E. Their standard amount also complies with GOST standards and is checked by relevant product quality studies.
The product also contains the following ingredients:
- preservatives;
- stabilizers;
- emulsifiers.
However, manufacturers follow the norms, so these elements do not exceed the established indicators.
According to domestic GOST, the product is rated at 16 points out of 20. The oil itself can be produced of the 1st and highest grade.
Main differences
Classic butter differs from peasant butter in the following ways:
- peasant butter does not go through the water stage of washing during cooking, unlike butter. That is why it has such an unusual taste;
- if you try two types of product at the same time, you can immediately feel a noticeable aftertaste after butter. However, the peasant one does not have such an aftertaste, since it contains a special acid limiter. It is completely safe for humans;
- One of the most important differences, of course, is the percentage of fat content. In ordinary butter, as a rule, the percentage is not higher than 85%, but in peasant butter it is about 73%;
- butter is more high-calorie; so, for 100 grams of the product there are about 720 kcal, in the peasant one 660 kcal. Despite the fact that the difference is quite small, the creamy product is considered more nutritious.
Despite some differences, both types are useful for the human body, since they contain useful macro- and microelements, vitamins and minerals.
Useful properties
To date, nutritionists note that many people specifically exclude oil from their daily diet, fearing for an increase in cholesterol levels and for adding excess weight. But in vain, because it is this product that contributes to the production of hormones necessary for the body, and it also strengthens the walls of blood vessels. Of course, the benefits for the body are achieved only if the creamy product is consumed in the right amount. Experts agree that the optimal amount for oil consumption per day is 10 grams.
The benefit also lies in the fact that the oil:
- promotes cell renewal in the human body;
- helps to improve memory and even intelligence from an early age;
- improves the appearance of hair, nails and skin;
- improves the functioning of the gastrointestinal tract.Including thanks to him, the natural microflora in the intestine improves, which, in turn, supports the immune state of the whole organism.
Peasant butter is the best option for daily use. It is moderately fatty, moderately high-calorie and at the same time very tasty. It will appeal not only to adults, but also to children.
How to choose
I would like to note right away that any oil should be purchased only in trusted places. And first of all, you need to pay attention to the expiration date of the product. In small stores, very often they sell products that will soon become unusable.
When choosing a peasant oil, it is recommended to read its composition. Despite GOST, many manufacturers add other components to their products:
- it is not recommended to purchase a product that contains an animal product from vegetable fat, since it is considered harmful to the body;
- if the package indicates that the shelf life is within a month (that is, more than 30 days), then this means that there are harmful preservatives in the oil;
- it is best to purchase cream products in a metallized pack, which not only does not oxidize, but also retains all the useful and taste properties of the product; in addition, such packaging prevents premature destruction of vitamins and minerals in the oil.
Signs of a defective product include:
- unpleasant and foreign smell;
- heterogeneous and sticky consistency of the product, the presence of a film on it, stains, mold.
A quality product should, as it were, melt smoothly in your mouth, without leaving an unpleasant aftertaste. Also, the product should dissolve as evenly as possible in warm water.
Customer Reviews
Today, on the Internet, you can find a lot of different opinions about peasant oil of different brands. As a rule, buyers respond positively to peasant sweet and creamy unsalted butter, saying that it is great for home baking and for breakfast in the morning.
Unsalted butter from the Vkusnoteevo brand has also proven itself very well, satisfied customers also leave positive feedback about it. Consumers also note that this kind of product:
- has a pronounced pleasant aroma and creamy taste;
- fresh oil has a delicate texture, with a slight yellowness in color.
As for the negative aspects, some customers mention the brands "Ecomilk" and "Dairy Farm". Speaking about these brands, buyers note that their peasant butter leaves behind an unpleasant aftertaste and a greasy film in the mouth. He also has an unnatural smell with bitterness.
But as they say, there are no comrades for the taste and color. Someone may like a product from a certain brand, but someone may not. If there is an opportunity in tasting different oils in the store, then it is better, of course, to take advantage of the moment.
