Drinking yogurt is a fermented milk product, for the production of which starter microorganisms are used. This delicious product is made from milk. The composition includes a variety of fillers in the form of pieces of fruit, seeds or cereals. In addition, manufacturers produce yogurts without additives, although they usually have a higher density than liquid yogurts. For drinking yoghurts, viscous type starters are used.
When choosing a natural product, you need to pay attention to how much lactic acid bacteria it contains. You should choose a product with higher rates, the benefits of such a dish will be much higher.

Many mothers are interested in the question of whether it is possible to drink yogurt while breastfeeding. After childbirth, a woman's body needs to be restored, and yogurt contains important substances that improve bowel function and strengthen immunity. A nursing mother can use a drinking product, but you need to choose it correctly.
The dessert should not contain dyes, a large amount of sugar, aggressive additives.
Harm and contraindications
Lactic acid bacteria inhibit the growth of pathogenic microflora, which is why yogurt is recommended for consumption. Unfortunately, many manufacturers, trying to extend the shelf life of the product, add harmful components to it.
As a result, instead of benefit, at best, the body receives nothing. Modified starch, food additives in the form of stabilizers, acidity regulators, dyes and flavors are added to yoghurts for thickening.
Most children and adults love yogurt because of its sweet taste. After checking several samples, it was revealed that one serving of dessert contains at least 3 teaspoons of sugar, which means that 4 such servings will completely replace the student's need for easily digestible carbohydrates.
According to some doctors, the benefits of these products are too exaggerated. After the examination, it was found that declared lactic acid bacteria in the product is much less than it was stated, but the amount of sugar exceeded the allowable levels.
Is a child different from an adult?
Many are interested in the question of whether children can be given regular drinking yogurt, which is intended for adults. There are special requirements for the production of fermented milk products for young children. All curds, yoghurts, kefirs for babies are made exclusively from the highest grade milk, while ordinary fermented milk products are made from first grade milk.
Yogurt for a baby can be thick in consistency if it contains pectin, as well as liquid drinking. It contains important vitamins A and B, in addition, there is chlorine, potassium and phosphorus. Thanks to the probiotics in the composition, the child does not have problems with digestion, immunity is strengthened. With the daily use of drinking or thick yogurt, interferon is produced, which enhances the protective functions of the body.
When buying a product for a child, you should carefully study its composition. Many fermented milk products that are intended for adults may contain unhealthy ingredients. So, for example, if the composition contains the additive E1442, it contains corn starch, which is prohibited for children under the age of 3 years. This supplement does not have the best effect on the pancreas. Many young children may be allergic to corn and cornstarch, so this ingredient is not added to children's yogurts.
It is better for small children to buy fermented milk drinks with a fat content of 3%, while their shelf life should be minimal and up to 5 days. Yogurt for children differs from the same product for adults in that its acidity will be lower, and its fat content will also be less.
How to do at home?
To get the most out of drinking yogurt, you can make your own. At the same time, to improve the taste and filling with important vitamins, ripe fruits and berries can be added to the drink. Such a fruity dessert will certainly appeal to both adults and children.

The easiest way to make this product is in a yogurt maker. Classic yogurt recipe.

- Add yeast to milk and stir.
- Warm milk is poured into clean jars and placed in the bowl of the appliance.
The yogurt maker will constantly maintain the optimum temperature for the starter culture. After 8 or 10 hours, the yogurt will be ready. You can leave the yogurt maker to ferment the product overnight, then evaluate the result in the morning.
Storage
Store the product prepared at home in the refrigerator. Its shelf life should not exceed 5 days.
If drinking yogurt is bought in a store, its expiration date may be different. In the event that no preservatives were used in its production, the fermented milk drink is stored for up to 10 days.
If on the jar it is indicated that its shelf life is a month or more, then it contains preservatives and this product has been subjected to heat treatment. This drinkable yogurt will have much fewer nutrients and can be eaten as a dessert.
