For cosmetic purposes, it is used to rejuvenate the skin and improve the condition of the hair. For these purposes, decoctions, infusions and masks are made from the plant. Ivan-tea is also useful for men: it enhances potency, helps with male infertility, stones in adenoma, and is a measure to prevent inflammation of the prostate.
Contraindications and harm
Despite the fact that fireweed has benefits for the body, there are cases when its use is limited, if not impossible. For example, it should not be given to the youngest children, although some mothers believe that gums can be wiped with infusion to reduce pain during the eruption of the first teeth.It is necessary to keep in mind individual intolerance, as well as an allergic reaction. In addition, it is important to understand that in different means of fireweed (infusion, decoction, tea), the concentration of active substances is not the same.
You can not drink it in large volumes and constantly. It is harmful to the stomach, intestines and liver. Do not use a decoction or infusion of fireweed for thrombosis, varicose veins, increased blood clotting, and thrombophlebitis.
Do not forget the fact that with the simultaneous use of fireweed with laxatives, its effectiveness is significantly reduced. It is not recommended to drink a drink when there is a tendency to diarrhea, with reduced pressure, while taking sedatives and antipyretics.
Brewing methods
To make an effective remedy at home, you need to use ceramic dishes (a small teapot will do). It is necessary to take for brewing only settled or filtered water. It should not be allowed to contain impurities of chlorine or heavy metals, which is typical for water from the plumbing system. According to generally accepted rules, no more than two teaspoons of dried grass should be taken per half liter. When using fermented leaves, it is important to consider the daily dosage, which should not exceed two tablespoons per day.
The drink is brewed according to the following technology:
- put the required amount of crushed plant in the kettle;
- the mixture is poured with boiling water (it turns out about one third of the capacity);
- the kettle is closed with a lid and infused for 2-3 minutes;
- then another 1/3 of water is added to it and insisted for 15 minutes;
- after infusion, the drink is shaken to activate the esters and make the liquid homogeneous;
- then the tea is defended.
You can drink this remedy for two days. No sugar or other sweeteners are added to it. Usually it is drunk warm, and as it cools - cold. If you don’t have sweet at all, you can use it with dried fruits.
Fermented tea has a special pleasant aroma. For fermentation or fermentation, the harvested leaves are crushed and rolled with the palms of the hands to darken the greens and release the juice. However, not everyone can do the twisting itself. In some cases, this procedure leads to burns of the skin of the palms.
After the leaves are twisted, they are placed in a container, pressed down on top and cleaned in a warm place so that they begin to ferment. It is desirable that the temperature in the room is about 23-25 degrees above zero. As soon as a pleasant aroma begins to be heard around the room, fermentation must be stopped in order to get a tasty, but not fermented tea. The finished leaves are dried in the oven for about 30 days at a temperature of about 90 degrees, not forgetting to stir constantly.
You can brew tea in a different way:
- the teapot is doused with boiling water;
- at the bottom put a brewing mixture of dry leaves and flowers;
- pour water into the container for 2/3 of the volume of the teapot;
- cover it with a lid and a towel (together with a spout);
- after 10-15 minutes, the drink is shaken, slightly defended and poured into cups;
- further, you can add more boiling water to the teapot and leave for 10 minutes (this tea is more aromatic).
Doctors believe that "living" water should be used to brew Ivan-tea. According to them, the temperature of hot water should not exceed 80-85 degrees C. This method of brewing will allow you to get a product with greater benefits for human health. In addition to the basic methods, there is another option for preparing fireweed, although it requires the use of enameled containers:
- dried flowers and leaves are placed at the bottom of the container;
- cold water is poured into the container in the required proportions;
- the dishes are placed on the stove and brought to a temperature of 80 degrees;
- the container is removed from the fire and infused for 10 minutes, covered with a lid;
- after shaking or stirring for uniformity, the tea is poured into cups and drunk.
This drink is not drunk with sugar, but consumed with milk and even salt. For example, to make it an alternative to breakfast, the grass is poured with water and boiled for 2 minutes, then passed through a sieve. In parallel with this, milk is boiled, after which it is added to hot tea. It remains to add a little salt, as well as nutmeg or pepper to taste.
Rules and norms of use
It is important to pay attention to the period of use of brewed tea. For example, the fact that it can be consumed within two days does not mean the need to withstand this time. The fact is that the esters are able to volatilize, and with them the benefits of the product will also decrease. It is impossible not to take into account the fact that the use of tea, depending on the purpose of use, may vary.
Not a single herb, even if it is especially useful, is drunk constantly and uncontrollably. Moreover, it is not consumed several times a day instead of tea. Such fanaticism can lead to serious health problems. After the course ends, you need a mandatory break.
For medicinal purposes, it is taken taking into account the existing problem and the right dosage. For example:
- For the treatment of the digestive system, the elimination of headaches and insomnia, it is taken three times in just 1 tbsp. spoon before meals.
- With angina, infusions and decoctions are not taken orally - they are gargled 3-5 times a day.
- With cystitis, the dosage is 3 times a day for 1/3 cup of uncool infusion;
- With adenoma and prostatitis, it is taken twice a day (in the morning and at night) no more than 1/3 cup.
- Women with heavy periods consume no more than a glass per day. In this case, its amount must be divided into several methods.
When infertility is treated with fireweed, other herbs are added to the main plant (including nettle, lemon balm, mint, strawberries, parsley). This mixture is insisted for at least two hours, taken in a course of no more than two glasses per day. However, this prescription cannot be taken for granted without consulting the opinion of the attending physician. In addition, such a set of herbs is not suitable for every woman due to individual intolerance.
The root of the plant is used for anemia, gastritis and bleeding. Moreover, the proportions of the crushed mixture and water do not change. It is poured with water and boiled over low heat for about 15 minutes, after which it is filtered and cooled. Take this drug before the main meals 3 times a day, one tablespoon.
When the reason for using fireweed is the prevention of cancer, in addition to Ivan tea, dried nettle, plantain and acacia flowers are added to the prepared liquid. Drink such a remedy dosed, no more than twice a day. In order for Ivan tea to be as useful as possible, it is worth taking note of a few simple tips.
- Between dried leaves and fermented tea, you should give preference to the second option. It is in it that there are more benefits to the human body.
- The benefits of hand-picked tea and store-bought tea vary.This is especially true for the option in bags (better and more useful is the one that is assembled independently). Tea bags are of little use.
- In addition to ceramic ware for brewing, it is allowed to use glass containers.
- Fermented tea has its own dosage for half a liter of water: one dessert spoon is enough for this amount.
- If you want to warm up a cold drink, do not bring it to a boil, as this reduces its benefits.
- If you wish, you can diversify the taste of fireweed by adding chopped currant leaves, strawberries and rose hips to the main dry mixture.
- If desired, you can halve the fireweed with black tea in a 1: 1 ratio.
- For treatment, the drink is consumed before meals, when it is drunk for preventive purposes, it can be replaced with one of the tea parties.
Even such a good deed as losing weight needs the right intake and dosage of a medicinal plant. Along with improving digestion, a drink of willow tea reduces appetite. Due to phytoncides and tannins, it does not allow overeating. Besides, regular use will be accompanied by a diuretic and laxative effect. This will lead to ridding the body of excess moisture and toxins.
For weight loss, you need to drink a drink made from fermented leaves. On average, for these purposes, it is taken twice a day, drinking one glass at a time. However, tea alone without appropriate physical activity will not give the desired result. If you really want to lose weight, you need to make an effort. It is not worth counting on the fact that tea itself works wonders - this is not a magical remedy, it is not drunk in liters and every day without stopping.There should be a measure in everything, the result will not be better from the amount of tea you drink, if you do not exercise at the same time as drinking.
