Blue tea: effects on the body and brewing features

Blue tea: effects on the body and brewing features

Black and green tea have not been considered something unusual for many decades, and even red tea is gradually becoming a habit for our compatriots. Many fruit and herbal mixtures, which are not quite rightly called teas, only expand the range of such brews, but blue tea is still so outlandish for the vast majority of our citizens that the overwhelming majority have not even heard of it.

Nevertheless, it not only exists, but is also rapidly gaining popularity, so it's time to understand what it is.

What it is?

Let's start with the fact that only black and green tea are actually made from the leaves of the tea bush, because blue tea, like so many similar infusions, is actually not such - it's just a more familiar name for the ear. In fact to obtain a drink that is not in vain called blue, the flowers of a plant referred to in various sources as anchan, trifoliate clitoris, moth pot and Thai orchid are used. As the last name implies, the homeland of the plant and the drink from it is Thailand.

The Thai drink is obtained from the flowers of the described plant, which is an evergreen vine that reaches three meters in height. The flowers themselves, which are 6 centimeters in diameter, must undergo multi-stage processing.For example, you can not collect them at any time, but only in the morning, followed by ten hours of drying. The dried buds are then oxidized with special compounds and dried again, after which each bud is compacted by hand.

Initially, the uninformed person is attracted by the color of the drink, which, indeed, is radically different from any other analogues, being bright blue. Interestingly, lemon can be added to such tea, and then, in addition to the flavor note, we will get an even more unusual color - bright purple. Actually, for the first time in our country, such tea leaves came with tourists who were impressed by an unusual souvenir and brought it home. Naturally, over time, wholesale suppliers also got down to business, thanks to which blue tea can now be bought in large domestic stores.

As for taste, potential gourmets cannot describe anything specific here. The fact is that the same drink in different people leaves completely different taste impressions - someone does not notice the taste at all, and someone calls it specific. Perhaps, in this matter it is better not to trust someone else's, even authoritative opinion, but to make up your own.

It should be said that not a single food product in the world is absolutely useless or harmless, and it is not for nothing that Anchan is very popular in its homeland.

It is no secret that the rich tropical nature in its gifts is able to present to a person literally everything that he needs for life. Therefore, Thai blue tea has its own advantages and disadvantages.

Compound

Anchan, like the drink brewed from it, consists of a number of substances useful for humans, which, as a result of consumption, can give numerous positive effects. The group of vitamins and microelements presented in anchan consists of the following substances:

  • vitamin C;
  • vitamin E;
  • vitamin K;
  • vitamin D;
  • B vitamins (B1, B2, B12);
  • phosphorus;
  • iron;
  • manganese.

Benefit and harm

As befits any folk product from the tropics, Anchan Thai blue tea has numerous beneficial properties, thanks to which it can conquer our market in a matter of decades. It is believed that the beneficial substances contained in it provide the following beneficial changes in the body:

  • memory is significantly improved, which helps even in the fight against various senile ailments;
  • there is a positive trend for vision;
  • a person becomes more resistant to stress, easily overcomes negative psychological phenomena;
  • insomnia gives way to sound healthy sleep, followed by periods of active wakefulness;
  • high blood pressure returns to normal, so blue tea can be a real boon for hypertensive patients;
  • hair and nails are healed, again acquiring a natural shine and strength;
  • the metabolism in the body is normalized, therefore the most advanced nutritionists even in our country recommend this drink to overweight people;
  • the aging processes in the body slow down, in particular, the hair retains its original color longer without turning gray;
  • in fact, the original function of any drink - to quench thirst - is also presented here in full.

It should be noted that the healing and rejuvenating properties of anchan are highly valued in Thailand - there, extracts from this plant are often an ingredient for various cosmetics. In addition, the Thais actively use the color features of such tea leaves to color other dishes in order to give them a bright blue. As you know, everything useful is useful only in moderation, and this fully applies to blue tea, which, like the same Borjomi, cannot be drunk endlessly.

If you are a gourmet and drink anchan solely from your own preferences, you should keep in mind that such a “course” should not exceed one month in length, after which it is worth taking a long break for about three weeks.

For medicinal purposes, blue tea is consumed even less - for example, for weight loss, this drink is drunk for no more than a week, a maximum of three cups a day, and the break after that is the same as after a month of drinking for pleasure. Naturally, a product with such a wide content of active ingredients simply cannot be accessible to everyone, and Anchan is no exception.

Contraindications here are not so numerous, but they must be taken into account before starting a course of “treatment” with tea. It is quite obvious that individual intolerance to any of the components of the brew puts an end to gatherings with a blue drink.

With anemia and low blood pressure, the use of exotic tea should also be abandoned, since it itself lowers blood pressure quite well.If a woman plans to become a mother, has recently become one or is carrying a child, you should consult your doctor before using anchan, because the effect on the child's body, where its components enter through the general circulation or breast milk, can be unpredictable. By the way, in extreme heat, one can only hope for a strong thirst-quenching effect of the drink, since it is not recommended to drink water after it - the load on the kidneys can be very strong.

Of course, it is desirable to confirm the arguments about the benefits of any drink with the opinion of experts, but they just strongly disagree. Doctors from the lands where blue tea comes from are almost unanimous that the plant and the infusion from it are products that are undoubtedly useful.

In support of their point of view, they cite numerous positive patient reviews, as well as the results of pharmacological studies. Critics of this point of view do not recognize local Thai studies as serious, and the healing effect is called an ordinary placebo effect, when the body heals itself due to a person's strong belief that he can recover.

However, the good news is that at least both groups of doctors agree on one thing: Anchan with a high degree of probability does not harm the human body, unless there are any of the listed contraindications.

As for the feedback from the consumers themselves, they are still relatively few - unless, of course, you read Thai.Tea gourmets usually indicate that with a relatively small amount of brewing, no taste is felt, but in a strong drink both bitterness and a sweet note are well felt, although in general tea is characterized by an aftertaste that can be described as oily and vegetable.

Drinking it immediately in the strongest proportions is not advised - many do not like the taste the first time, although later, as numerous commentators note, you get used to the taste, and it is perceived normally. By the way, no one has any comments about the color - the drink, indeed, is distinguished by its amazing brightness.

As for the healing properties, there is no fundamental answer regarding the usefulness of anchan in the comments. The fact is that reviews on the Internet are usually written by those who have just got acquainted with this product, therefore, even if the remedy turns out to be miraculous, it is possible that it simply has not yet had time to work. As a result, many commentators write that anchan seems to be acting, but they say this somehow uncertainly. There are reviews according to which anchan helps a lot with visual impairments, but the ability of tea to lull many people into doubt.

At the same time, some authors write that a strong infusion of the clitoris has a pronounced relaxing effect, in some places even intoxicating, which is why the drink should not be consumed before work or in other situations where a significant concentration of attention is required. But such tea, according to the same authors, is a great way to relax after a hard day.

How to brew and take?

Although the scope of clitoria flowers is quite wide, in our country and around the world it is still most often perceived as tea.It is not possible to brew a blue drink in any dish - since the taste may turn out to be mild, it is completely unacceptable to additionally interrupt it with a metallic aftertaste. For this reason, dishes made of glass or porcelain are chosen for brewing.

The brewing procedure is much more complicated than that of ordinary tea. The water is brought to a boil, but brewing anchan with boiling water is unacceptable, because the water is allowed to cool slightly, after standing for about five minutes. The amount of tea leaves is determined approximately by eye - for beginners, unaccustomed to unusual tastes, it is worth starting with one spoon, the standard amount involves two tablespoons of tea leaves, but for lovers of a strong effect, three spoons per glass will seem like a normal dosage. The tea leaves are poured with about a glass of hot water, but the liquid is drained after a minute - it is not suitable for drinking, it is used only for rinsing dry flowers.

When the flowers of the clitoris have already gone through rinsing, the tea leaves are re-filled with a glass of water, which is infused for about 5 minutes. The resulting drink does not put forward any special restrictions on consumption - according to experienced tea lovers, it is good both hot and cold. Since anchan may seem tasteless to some, it is not surprising that it is often combined with many of the “tea” seasonings we are used to, such as sweeteners (sugar, honey) or herbs (mint, lemon balm, currants). As already mentioned, lemon, even in a small amount, can radically change the color of the drink, while adding its usefulness to it.

The unusual blue color (or purple color when adding lemon) of the drink can also be used for culinary and aesthetic purposes.Thais themselves often do this by offering blue omelettes, rice or noodles to admiring tourists - so why not please your guests with the same delicacy. Another thing is that in our country such products may be perceived a little strange, and it is not a fact that they will become popular. It's no big deal - jelly of an unusual color, which is the real reason for buying a significant part of all blue tea sold in the post-Soviet space.

To prepare such a culinary masterpiece, not so many ingredients are required - one glass of strong Anchan tea, three teaspoons of sugar, three grams of gelatin and about 150 milliliters of water. If you want to get a bright purple jelly, you should add lemon juice to the recipe - just a few drops are enough to add to the tea. There, to warm tea, it is necessary to add sugar, stirring thoroughly so that it dissolves completely.

Gelatin dissolves in parallel in the water provided for in the recipe - it is necessary that it swell. After both components get the desired look, they are simply mixed together and thoroughly kneaded until a homogeneous mass. After that, the resulting mass must be filtered to remove possible inclusions of tea leaves, and then pour it into molds and put it to harden in a cool place.

Cosmetic recipes based on the triple clitoris in our country have not yet received real recognition, however, the fair sex does not sleep and has already adopted some beauty secrets from their Thai girlfriends. The most popular recipe is considered to be a conditioner for colored hair, which is designed to support them and provide them with proper nutrition - another thing is that a lot of raw materials will be needed for this.It is necessary to mix as much as 200 grams of blue tea leaves with 100 grams of chopped ginger root and a couple of bergamot sprigs, after which the whole resulting tea leaves should be boiled for five minutes.

The cooled broth will be a rinse, which should be used after washing your hair. As a result, the hair will become stronger, dandruff will disappear, and gray hair will again become something distant and not at all frightening for the eternally young beauty.

For brunettes, this recipe is also good because the use of such a conditioner will help restore the original shade of the hair, make it bright and attractive again.
