Grapes "Relines Pink Sidlis": variety description and cultivation
In almost every country house in any climate, you can find several bushes of grapes, because this berry is universal, it can be eaten raw or processed to produce juice and wine, and the bushes themselves braid any structures, so they are easy to use in landscape design. To avoid problems when growing these plants, you need to choose the right variety. In this article we will talk about such a type of grape as Relines Pink Sidlis.
Characteristic
The grape variety "Relines Pink Seeds" is a product of the work of American breeders, created in the mid-60s of the last century. The most important points in the description of the variety: the absence of seeds in the fruit and excellent resistance to low temperatures (down to -30 ° C), which allows you not to cover it during frosts and grow it in almost any climate. The ripening of berries takes from 105 to 115 days, which makes it possible to classify Rilines Pink Seedlis as a mid-early variety, which means that it can be harvested already in the first ten days of September. Usually a little less than half of the shoots bear fruit, while as many as 80% of the set berries ripen.
The weight of one bunch of such grapes reaches 300 grams with a weight of one berry from 1.5 to 3 grams. The fruits of this grape are covered with a very thin and delicate pink skin, their sugar content reaches 25% with an acidity of only 7 grams / liter, so the grapes taste very sweet and have a pleasant strawberry flavor. Thanks to this, he earned high marks from professional tasters: 7.4 for fresh berries and 7.6 for raisins.
The considered species is quite resistant to fungal diseases that are detrimental to other varieties: real (odium) and downy (mildew) powdery mildew, gray and black rot, and ordinary mold.
Landing
Due to the high resistance to frost, it is possible to plant Rilines Pink Sidlis both in autumn and in spring, the main thing is that at least a month remains before the most severe frosts. It is better to plant bushes in a place that receives enough sunlight, but, moreover, is sheltered from gusts of wind. Almost any soil is suitable for this variety, except calcareous. Before planting seedlings, they need to be soaked in water for up to a day, after which their roots should be cleaned, carefully cutting off the damaged areas.
Holes for bushes should be square with a side of 1 meter, their depth should also be 1 meter. At the bottom of each hole, stone drainage is arranged, humus is poured on top, and only then the seedling itself is planted. In the process of planting, the roots must be carefully straightened. After that, the future bush is attached to a support and watered abundantly, it is worth mulching around it.
Care
Due to the high resistance of Relines Pink Seedlis to dangerous diseases, regular spraying of the bushes is not required. It makes sense to carry it out only if there are noticeable signs of damage to any disease, especially powdery mildew (after all, the variety is resistant to it, but not completely invulnerable).
The greatest harm to planting can be caused by various insects and pests. To combat those that live in the ground, it is necessary to loosen the soil around the bushes with a certain frequency. Very strong damage to ripe berries can be caused by wasps, which are attracted by the sweet aroma and taste of this variety. To combat hymenoptera pests, you need to find and destroy their nests in time, place “sweet traps” at a distance, and in extreme cases, spray them with an insecticide.
The main care for the bushes "Rileins Pink Seeds" comes down to their regular watering, rubbing the leaves, regular feeding. In the initial period of growth, you need to carefully and carefully cut off all the bumps from the young shoots of the bush. If any shoots or leaves still suffer from pests or diseases, it is worth cutting them off as well.
Around the beginning of July (with the end of the growing season), fertilization and watering can be gradually reduced to nothing.
Application
Due to its excellent taste properties and the absence of seeds in the berries, Relines Pink Seedlis is well suited for both fresh consumption and processing. At the same time, the processing of this variety is much easier than many other varieties, because it is also characterized by soft skin.
Bushes can be used to decorate gazebos or walls of buildings.
Reviews
Most summer residents note that Rilines Pink Seedlis really tolerates cold very well (sometimes up to -34 ° C) and has delicious taste, and the absence of stones makes it easy to make delicious juices and wines from it. Very good, according to both summer residents and tasters, dried raisins from the fruits of this variety.
Among the shortcomings, it is noted that, despite the declared high resistance to diseases, the bushes are still sometimes affected by them (especially those that are non-fungal in nature).
And the cultivation of Relines Pink Seedlis in conditions of stable high humidity leads to cracking of the skin of the fruit, therefore, during long rains, gardeners recommend covering the bushes.
