Where are they grown?
Apple tree "Renet Semerenko" has low rates of frost, so gardeners grow this variety in areas with a temperate climate. This variety is grown in Ukraine and in the Southern Federal District in Russia (Rostov region, Krasnodar region, Chechnya, Ingushetia, Astrakhan region, North Ossetia, Dagestan).
Semerenko apple trees can also be grown in central Russia, but in this case it is necessary to take measures that will prevent the trees from freezing in winter.
Landing and care
You can plant young seedlings in the spring (before the buds open) or in the fall, when the leaves completely fall on the trees.A pit for planting trees is prepared in advance, that is, 6–12 months in advance, while taking into account the fact that the planting area should be well lit in the summer. The diameter of the hole should vary from 1 to 1.5 meters, and the depth should be about 90 cm. Drainage must be laid at the bottom of the pit. As top dressing, peat mixed with humus is poured. After that, fertile soil is added so that it fills ½ of the hole.
If you use sandy soil, then clay must be placed at the bottom and covered with plant waste from above (the thickness should be no more than 15 cm). Next, a young tree is placed with a supporting structure, then covered with soil. In ideal condition, a small hill should form above the ground, which must be compacted and poured with 30-40 liters of liquid.
Since the Semerenko apple trees are a capricious variety, it means that they will need some care.
Watering activities
This variety of apple trees does not require a large amount of moisture, so for the whole season it is enough to water the seedlings 3-4 times. The volume of water for irrigation is calculated according to such a principle as: how old is the apple tree, how many buckets of liquid will be required for one-time irrigation. The first watering must be carried out in early June, the second - at the time of fruit ripening, and the third - before the onset of frost.
Fertilization
In the spring, when the buds have not yet blossomed, it is necessary to add fertilizers containing nitrogen to the soil. These agents include urea, calcium or sodium nitrate. If an excessive amount of nitrogen is introduced into the soil, then there is a risk of destroying the root system of the tree, therefore, the ratio of water and substance should be strictly observed when preparing the solution.Experts recommend spraying plants in the spring with specialized preparations that contain copper.
In this way, the attack of harmful insects and microorganisms can be prevented. In the summer, fertilizers containing phosphorus must be applied, and mulching around the trunk is also carried out with peat, compost and humus.
In autumn, before the onset of frost, the plant is fed with potash fertilizers, which will greatly facilitate the wintering of trees.
pruning
These activities take place during the summer. At the same time, you need to cut off dry, broken, diseased branches and shoots. In the event that a large number of ovaries have formed on the tree, they must be removed (about half), thus, the crop is rationed, where the fruits will be large. Pruning is necessary so that the crown of the tree is evenly lit, and you can also avoid the appearance of various diseases. Because, or the plant is cut correctly, further productivity will depend.
Winterization measures
Since the plant is exposed to diseases such as scab and powdery mildew, in the fall it is necessary to carefully remove and burn all fallen leaves and twigs that are on the ground. After all, it is in the waste that the fungus can hide, and with the onset of heat, it will begin to actively develop, gradually moving to all plants. But if it was not possible to avoid the appearance of such diseases, then you should not despair ahead of time. To date, there is a wide range of specialized products that can cure a tree from such harmful microorganisms. It is enough just to spray the plant a certain number of times with drugs such as Euparen and Polycarbacin.
A variety of apple trees "Semerenko" does not respond well to negative temperatures. Therefore, when growing apple trees in harsh climatic conditions, it is necessary to take measures that will facilitate the wintering of the plant. Before the onset of severe frosts, you need to cover the trees with special materials. Apple bark is a favorite delicacy of hares.
To avoid such attacks, the trunks should be treated with lime and wrapped with burlap.

After all, such an apple tree gives not only a rich harvest for the season, but also its fruits have useful qualities for the body. Many summer residents note that apples perfectly tolerate transportation over long distances without deforming. Due to this feature, they are used for food purposes. There are also negative opinions about this variety of apple trees, namely, the following disadvantages should be noted:
- poor resistance to various diseases;
- old apple trees do not bear fruit every season;
- poor resistance to low temperatures;
- poor self-pollination;
- it is necessary to constantly carry out measures to care for the plant.
Many shortcomings can be easily eliminated. Indeed, with proper and regular tree care, a rich fruit harvest is ensured. Apple trees "Semerenko" have poor self-pollination, so when planting such trees, it is necessary to additionally plant other varieties of apples for pollination.
