Apple tree "Stroevskoye": description of the variety and agricultural technology
In warm weather, we do not experience an acute shortage of nutrients and vitamins for the reason that fresh seasonal vegetables and fruits are available to us. With the onset of winter cold, the need for such products increases dramatically. Gardeners who grow Stroevskoye apple trees in the garden have the opportunity to enjoy the fruits even in the last winter month. The winter variety has a number of unique properties.
One of the features is the resistance of the species to scab due to the Vf gene.
History reference
The variety was bred by a team of Russian specialists. These were representatives of the All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Selection of Fruit Crops. The documentation notes that scientists worked long and hard to achieve the necessary goal. The appearance of this variety dates back to 1982. The first fruits were obtained only in 1991.
The Stroevskoe species was recognized at the official level 4 years later, due to high-quality fruits and a number of positive properties. Since that moment, a variety of apple trees began to actively spread throughout the country. The tree was entered into the State Register in 2001. Two years earlier, the apple tree was presented at a major exhibition, where it was duly awarded.
a brief description of
After planting, the first apples can be obtained in 4-5 years with proper care. However, many gardeners note that the crop appears for the most part in 6-7 years.Up to 60 kilograms of fruits are harvested from one adult apple tree. This indicator indicates a high yield of the species. As for the trees, whose age is from 8 to 11 years, here the yield is as follows - 117 centners / ha. Compared to the popular Antonovka variety, this is a great value, since 67 c/ha is harvested from the latter.

Fruit
Apples of this variety are medium in size, but large fruits are also found. Dimensions are highly dependent on the climate in the growing region, as well as the correct care. The weight of the fruit is about 120 grams, large apples weigh up to 180 grams.The fruits are protected by a glossy peel without a wax coating. The shape is conical, maybe a little beveled. There is a slight ribbing.
As a rule, the crop is harvested when the apples are not fully ripe. During this period, they have a greenish color with a slight yellow tint. After some time, the fruits fully ripen and turn into an expressive golden color. Apples are decorated with a bright pink blush. Seeds are standard brown. Due to the density and optimal hardness, the crop can be transported without fear of spoiling. For transportation, cardboard boxes are used to preserve the skin.
The fruits boast excellent gastronomic qualities. Ripe fruits are very juicy and sweet, with notes of pleasant sourness. The coarse-grained pulp of the fruit is snow-white, and if the fruit has not yet ripened, then a green tint will be noticeable. From apples emanates a pleasant and appetizing aroma.
Pros and cons of the type
Each fruit crop has individual positive and negative qualities. To fully appreciate the variety, you need to weigh both sides.
These are the benefits.
- The fruits of the variety "Stroevskoe" have high taste qualities. Also note the excellent presentation of apples.
- Excellent and stable yields with simple and understandable care.
- This is a frost-resistant species that feels great in harsh climates. The plant is able to survive frosts up to 40 degrees Celsius below zero. Due to this characteristic, the apple tree can be cultivated in the northern regions of Russia with cold and long winters.
- Apples have a strong and stable immune system, thanks to which they are not afraid of diseases, viruses and attacks from pests.
- The fruits retain their beauty and gastronomic qualities for a long period of storage.
The main disadvantage of this species is the lack of the ability to self-pollinate. To get a crop, it is necessary to plant at least two more trees of other varieties in a small area. The apple tree of the above variety is not early ripening, in this regard, it is necessary to wait a lot to get the first harvest.
Agricultural technology
Apple trees "Stroevskoye" grow remarkably and bear fruit in the Moscow region in central Russia. Young trees of the above variety grow especially actively in the first few years. There is also a high survival rate. However, even with such characteristics, the plant needs special care.
disembarkation
For planting fruit crops, it is recommended to choose areas with fertile soil. Black earth is considered the best option. Earth with a high content of alkali or acids will not work. Also give preference to well-lit areas. The shadow negatively affects the development of the tree and the abundance of the crop.
Before planting, the land must be fed. This is done about a week before planting, so that the soil has time to absorb all the useful trace elements and nutrients. Experts recommend not using fresh manure as a fertilizer.
It is better to use the following recipe and prepare an effective top dressing from the following elements:
- one and a half kilograms of superphosphate;
- 2.5 kilograms of phosphorus flour;
- 150 grams of potassium sulphide;
- kilogram of ash;
- humus - 4 buckets.
The resulting composition in these proportions is consumed per tree.
top dressing
The first time the trees are fertilized a year after planting. This is done in the first month of spring.Many use time-tested organics - liquid manure. To prepare the mixture, it is enough to mix water with the main element and leave to ferment for 6 days. After that, the soil around the tree is loosened and watered. The second time fertilizers are applied at the end of spring, in May. Now you need to use humus. For top dressing, prepare 5 buckets of the product. You can also use the following mixture: 40 grams of nitroammophoska and ammonium nitrate are mixed with 0.5 kilograms of urea.
As soon as the tree began to bloom, it was time for the third top dressing. Useful substances are necessary to stimulate vegetation. You can independently prepare the following fertilizer: 10 liters of clean water, half a bucket of liquid manure and 100 grams of superphosphate. The resulting mixture is cultivated around the tree. If necessary, you can replace manure with urea (300 grams). The fourth top dressing is carried out using a solution of liquid manure. The cooking process is shown above. The last time fertilizers are introduced so that the trees survive the cold season more easily. Trees are watered and 50 grams of double superphosphate are added.
Watering
Young apple trees need careful watering, like many fruit crops. At least 2 liters of water are consumed per seedling. From year to year, the frequency of watering must be reduced, however, this increases the volume. The process of updating the crown must be carried out in the fall or in the middle of spring. Get rid of unnecessary escapes. Broken and damaged branches are cut off with the onset of autumn.
To get a rich harvest of delicious fruits, the shoots are shortened by a third, and part of the crown is simply removed.
Disease prevention
This culture has an increased resistance to various diseases that often attack fruit trees. Despite this characteristic, prevention cannot be completely abandoned. Treatment with protective agents will additionally protect the trees.
It is not required to treat apples with scab preparations. The plant will cope wonderfully with this ailment without outside help.
Gardening stores offer a huge selection of products with which you can strengthen the immunity of the plant. The preparations will provide additional protection without spoiling the crop. Experts recommend using a minimum of funds. Due to the fact that the apple tree does not need careful processing with the help of chemicals, the harvest is as natural and healthy as possible.
Harvest and storage
The harvest ripens around mid-September, but this figure is highly dependent on the climatic conditions in the region. Terms can be shifted or, conversely, reduced. In the process of harvesting the fruit, be careful not to damage the skin. Such fruits are stored less. Due to the juicy pulp, juice will begin to stand out through the damaged shell. It is recommended to store the crop in a cool room. This will prolong the shelf life of the fruit. Apples are placed in closed boxes. The fruits are eaten both dried and fresh. Also, from the Stroevsky variety, delicious jam and jam are obtained.
Reviews
Most of the responses related to the above variety are positive. In laudatory reviews, gardeners noted the following characteristics: excellent taste of fruits, simple and understandable agricultural technology, strong immunity and frost resistance of the variety.Despite such a high rating, there are those who still opt for sweeter varieties of apples, without a hint of sourness.
