Bedbug syrup: properties, rules for preparation and use
Klopovka is the popular name for a valuable Sakhalin shrub, the real name of which sounds like redberry (or excellent vaccinum). Klopovka grows on Sakhalin and Kamchatka, as well as on the territory of the Kuril Islands and is a wild species.
This plant is widely used not only in cooking, but also in traditional medicine. So, medicinal syrups are most often prepared from Sakhalin berries.
How to make bedbug syrup yourself at home? What are the benefits of the plant? You will find answers to these questions in our material.
Properties and distinctive characteristics of the plant
First of all, it should be noted that this plant emits an unpleasant odor (hence the popular name - klopovka). As for appearance, the berries of the plant are small fruits of bright red color. They have a sweet and sour taste and are quite juicy in texture.
The composition of krasnika includes a fairly large number of useful components, thanks to which it received the status of a medicinal plant. So, the berry contains phytoncides, vitamin C, benzoic acid, tannins, flavonoids.
Due to such a rich content, excellent vaccinum is able to have a number of positive effects on the human body, in particular, to fight pathogenic bacteria, strengthen the immune system, take part in hematopoiesis processes, have a positive effect on the functioning of the nervous system, facilitate the absorption of iron by the body, normalize the work of the endocrine system, perform an antiseptic and anti-inflammatory role, have an antioxidant effect.
However, in addition to a large number of positive effects, the systematic and regular use of the plant inside (fresh, in the form of syrup, etc.) can adversely affect human health.
So, first of all, it is forbidden to use bedbugs for those who have an individual intolerance or suffer from allergies. It is also necessary to take into account the fact that the consumption of redberries can lower blood pressure - if you already have it lowered, then you should refuse to take this plant inside. In addition, pregnant women and young children should not eat Vaccine Superior.
Caution should be taken when eating fresh berries. An excessive amount of fruit eaten can cause disorders of the digestive system and gastrointestinal tract, in particular, diarrhea, nausea, and colic may begin.
Syrup recipe
If you have read the contraindications to the consumption of the plant and found that they do not concern you, then you can safely proceed to the preparation of a healthy syrup from an excellent vaccine for the winter.
The method of making it is quite simple. So, for its preparation you will need:
- directly berries (1 kilogram);
- 2 kilos of sugar.
The indicated ingredients must be poured into a large and deep container, for example, into a saucepan, and mixed, and then covered with a lid. It is recommended to leave this mixture for 5-7 days in a cool dark place (basement, cellar, refrigerator, etc.). Moreover, every evening the berry mass must be mixed or shaken. Never forget to do this.
After the specified period of time, the resulting berry puree must be crushed and filtered through a sieve in order to get rid of the skin, lumps, undissolved sugar and other undesirable components of the syrup.
After that, the syrup should be distributed in pre-sterilized jars and rolled up with lids. If you do not plan to leave it for the winter, then you can use any other clean and dry dishes.
In addition to syrup, other dishes can be made from bedbugs: jam, jam, mashed potatoes and others.
Rules of use and application
It should be remembered that the maximum allowable rate of consumption of redberry syrup per day is 3 tablespoons. It is not recommended to drink more syrup. Moreover, it is important to note that syrup can be taken both independently and added to other dishes or drinks (cereals, teas, sweet desserts).
